Buick Showing It Finally Has Balls
GM brands are vanishing like prom dresses at midnight and the auto industry as a whole is starting to feel the hangover from the cash for clunkers party; so what’s an antiquated brand like Buick to do? Buick has hardly been the pinnacle of success for GM, with one model after the next being “retooled” or “remodeled” to compete with the big boys. However, nothing seemed to be working for them.
Well, our hats off to Bob Lutz, who finally told GM to grow a pair and start playing hardball. First GM unveiled their 60 day buyback program. Don’t like your new GM car, then bring it back and we’ll give you your money back like an ugly shirt. If anything else, there is at least some buzz about it. The number of news articles covering it have gone up substantially.
Back to Buick… FINALLY, the folks at Buick are starting to play like they actually want market share with a new line of advertisements that use the tagline, "Another thing for Lexus to relentlessly pursue," "EX your Lexus." This has certainly ignited social media that has been twittering and youtubing away about the new Buicks. What stands to be seen is if they now roll off of the lot.
