#CNNFail’s to Report News
Social Media lit up on Monday after Twitters began posting messages tagged #CNNFail referencing the seemingly inadequate coverage that CNN has given to the Iranian election. In fact a website was instantly posted at www.cnnfail.com showing just how many Twitters were tweeting about the situation. CNN has been almost overly adoptive toward social media with virtually every reporter having their own: blog, twitter, facebook page, and threads. So much so that Jon Stewart poked fun of it on the daily show by saying, “If I want to follow CNN, I will do it on… CNN. What the hell do I need to follow them for on Twitter?”
In typical Jon Stewart fashion, it didn't stop there...
However CNN's Rick Sanchez responded with this weak attempt at a comeback...
Sparking one of the many rules of online reputation management. When you do something wrong, do not stir the pot. Shut up, apologize (quickly), fix it so it never happens again, and move on. Not doing so is sure to start an online revolt.
